For an abdominal ultrasound (whole abdomen, upper abdomen, liver, gallbladder), fasting for 8-12 hours prior to the scan is recommended.
For pelvic, obstetric, or urinary tract (KUB) ultrasound, a full bladder is required. Drink plenty of water and do not void before the examination.
Wear loose, comfortable two-piece clothing for ease of examination.
